Cuban Artists
The mandate of ArtéSol Gallery is to offer exposure to a great variety of up and coming as well as world-renowned artists living and working in Cuba. All of them are members of UNEAC (National Organization of Cuban Writers and Artists).
According to famous Cuban artist Ibrahim Miranda: “Our insular condition has been a decisive factor in our culture, influencing our myths, fantasies and our national psyche. The sensation of being isolated, separated from everyone, floating in the middle of the sea, has been a strong stimulus to the imagination of Cuban artists.’
Contemporary Cuban artists have brought these elements to their true apotheosis, driven perhaps by the urgent need to express their non-conformity. Such a combination of imagination, artistic power, and technical skills that enhance their formidable expressiveness can hardly be found anywhere else in the world.
